As April slowly comes to an end, we will be studying the following things:
Reading/Language Arts:
- reading/decoding single CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words (cat, hop, tip, etc.)
- reading full sentences that contain CVC words
- reviewing learned sight words
- learning and using new sight words
- learning and using guided reading strategies
Math:
- counting
- quantity comparison
- number sequencing
- continued review of patterns and pattern extension
- counting by 2's, 5'2, and 10's
Science:
- plant and animal life cycles; plant and animal needs and interdependence
- habitats
- basic concepts of environmentalism (reduce, recycle, reuse)
- basic physics (direction, motion, etc.)
Social Studies:
- basic geography (compass, direction, maps)
- basic physcial geography (landforms, etc.)
